Pulwama, May 28 (KNO): The district administration Pulwama on Thursday ordered probe against Block Medical Officer (BMO) Tral for discharging of six inmates from a quarantine center in Tral without waiting for their test report. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a group of people having travel history from outside the Union Territory of J&K were quarantined at Tral and their samples were subsequently taken. They informed that the group of returnees was allegedly sent to their home. However, six discharged inmates were tested positive yesterday evening, they said. Chief Medical officer (CMO) Pulwama said that sampling, quarantining and discharge of returnees is to be done as per the government order and is the domain of Block Medical Officer (BMO) and his medical teams. Upon preliminary verification, it has surfaced that BMO Tral has negligently discharged six persons from the quarantine centre without waiting for their test reports. While taking cognizance of the matter, District Magistrate Pulwama, Dr. Raghav Langer ordered probe into the matter. He said “the sheer negligence on the part of BMO Tral has made hundreds of lives vulnerable with a looming potential to spike a new series of infection in the district.” He said special teams were deputed overnight to the respective areas for quarantining of potential contacts and subsequent sampling of the same. He said that pre-term discharging has made lives of their family members and contacts contacted during this period vulnerable. Meanwhile, a committee has been constituted under the aegis of ADC Tral with Deputy CMO and BDO Tral as members. The committee shall submit their report to the authorities within a period of three days –(KNO)
